The Hiboy Titan PRO is a very high powered, long range elecric scooter. With twin 1200 watt motors it has 2400 watts of power. This scooter has plenty of power for steep hills even with heavier riders. It can handle hills up to 35% grade. The battery capacity allows for up to 40 miles of range.

This scooter is built more like a motorcycle or moped than a standard electric kick scooter. This is a serious machine for commuting or traveling long distances or just a joy ride at higher speeds.

It has a coil sprung and hydraulically damped suspension at both the front and rear wheel along with 10 inch pneumatic wheels. This gives it a very smooth and comfortable ride.

The only downside to this scooter is the high weight. At almost 62 lbs it’s not easy to just pick up and carry with you into the office. It has a folding design so that it can take up less space.

This is our top pick for the best electric scooter for hills due to its high power and battery capacity as well as a smooth fun ride.

The Segway Ninebot Max is Segway’s most powerful electric scooter. At 42 lbs it is still portable enough to carry onto a subway or into the office.

This scooter has a max speed of just under 19mph. It has a peak power of 800 watts. It will go up most hills without too much struggle if you pay attention to the max rider weight of 220 lbs. It doesn’t have the beastly hill climbing power of the 1600 watt and up electric scooters. It doesn’t weigh 70 to 120 lbs either.

The Ninebot Max has pneumatic tires and small amount of front and rear suspension giving it a relatively smooth ride. It’s not as smooth as the larger scooters with coil suspension. It’s not as rough as smaller scooters with solid wheels.

It is packed with a lot of technology. It has easy built in battery charging, an LED display and integrated Bluetooth with a phone app.

This is my pick for best electric scooter for hills. It has the best compromise between brute power and lightweight portability. If you live somewhere with lots of hills and need to carry your scooter onto public transportation this could be the scooter for you.

  • Top Speed – 18.6 mph
  • Range – 40 miles
  • Power – 800 watts
  • Max Rider Weight – 220 lbs
  • Scooter Weight – 42 lbs

  • Not as much hill climbing power as bigger, heavier scooters
  • Range suffers a lot riding hilly terrain

3 – UberScoot 1600w 48v Electric Scooter

Best Value

  • Motor – 1600 Watt (Brushless).
  • Top Speed – 30mph (speed limit wire must be disconnected)
  • Batteries – Four 12V/12AH (48 volt system) Sealed Lead Acid (SLA). Charging Time: 6-8 hours
  • Max load – 265 lbs.Kickstand
  • Drive System – Chain

The Uberscoot 1600 Watt Scooter is a high performance electric scooter. It weighs 117 lbs making it not very portable for those who need to carry their scooters. Think of it more as an electric moped than an electric kick scooter.

This scooter has tons of power for hill climbing and a good top speed at 30mph. It easily powers up hills. It does it comfortably thanks to its front and rear suspension design.

The range of this scooter is short at only 12 miles. This is due to its use of Lead Acid batteries instead of lithium batteries. Lead acid batteries are much heavier and larger for the same capacity and voltage. This scooter is great for climbing hills and fun to ride. It has the potential to be much better with lithium batteries.

  • Top Speed – 30mph
  • Range – 12 miles
  • Power – 1600 watts
  • Max Rider Weight – 265 lbs
  • Scooter Weight – 117 lbs

What we liked

  • Hill climbing power
  • Smooth fun ride
  • Comfortable with seat

What we didn’t like

  • Scooter weight due to lead acid batteries
  • Short range for the weight and size due to lead acid batteries

4 – JOYOR X5S Electric Scooter

  • Excellent Motor – new 350W brushless DC motor, boosting the e-scooter to a max speed of 15.5 MPH. High capacity battery can achieve Max 15.5 Miles
  • Triple Braking System – Front and rear dual brake system. Disc braking and anti-lock braking dual system maintain safe and responsive braking
  • JOYOR A3 APP – The electric scooter has an APP function to check the scooter before every use, lock your scooter and view other riding statistics
  • Lightweight & Foldable – fold in one step and electric scooter can be carried one-handed

The Joyor X5S is a solid entry from a lesser known scooter brand. It claims 500 watts of power and delivers solid range and load capacity. It is lighter than most higher powered electric scooters at only 33 lbs.

Most users are able to achieve between 30 and 40 miles depending on rider weight and terrain. This is notably better than most lower cost scooters that have a useable range of 10 to 15 miles.

The scooter has good acceleration and hill climbing ability for 500 watts. Going up hills will slow it down some. The scooter is capabable of going up to 23mph if you disable the speed limiter. It has more power than the 15mph advertised top speed suggests.

Their warranty response is not great if you have issues with the scooter. They are not as quick to respond as well known brands such as Segway. The durability of the headlights and some accessory components is not as good as it could be.

Overall this is a solid performing scooter with good hill climbing performance in a lower weight, more portable design.

  • Top Speed – 15.5 mph
  • Range – 40.3 miles
  • Power – 500 watts
  • Max Rider Weight – 265 lbs
  • Scooter Weight – 33 lbs

What we liked

  • Lightweight portable design
  • Good range
  • Smooth ride

What we didn’t like

  • Poor warranty service
  • Durability of headlights and accessories

5 – EverCross Electric Scooter

  • COST-EFFECTIVE ELECTRIC SCOOTER – Let’s live an active lifestyle and refine your traveling. Minimalist Design, and easy to operate.
  • SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE – The electric scooter has an upgraded 800 watt powerful motor, with a 28 MPH max speed and a range of 25 miles
  • SAFE AND COMFORTABLE – Braking is smooth and secure. The excellent braking system makes the brakes respond more quickly and improves safety when riding. The front and rear shock absorbers provide maximum rider comfort.

The EverCross Electric Scooter has good power and good range and has a removable seat. It has an 800 watt motor and 48 volt 10,000 mah battery which should give it good hill climbing ability.

The scooter claims a 30 mph top speed but most users are getting closer to 15mph at the top end. The specified range is 25miles but 15 miles is a more realistic number. Both of these are still good performance for the cost. They claim a hill climbing angle of 45 degrees. No one believes that is an accurate number. Your average neighborhood or urban street hill will be no problem.

It has suspension at the front and rear tires along with large pneumatic tires. The tires are a tubelss design. They are similar to mountain bike tires in that you need to put sealant into the tires to keep a good seal with the rim. This isn’t bad but you need to know how to make them work. Without sealant, they will slowly leak air. You may find yourself with flat tires halfway through every ride.

This scooter at 44 lbs is portable. You can carry it. You won’t want to carry it real far. It folds down to a compact size even with the seat attached.

The EverCross Electric Scooter is a good performer if you understand what it can do before buying it. It will work well in hilly areas with a decent range.

  • Top Speed – 30mph
  • Range – 25 miles
  • Power – 800 watts
  • Max Rider Weight – 330 lbs
  • Scooter Weight – 44 lbs

What we liked

  • Great hill climbing power
  • Seat included for riding comfort
  • Long range and high top speed

What we didn’t like

  • Heavy for carrying around
  • Tubeless tires are more maintenance intensive

6 – Magnum Premium IMAX S1+

  • PREMIUM-QUALITY & CREATIVE DESIGN – Made with high-quality aluminum alloy and sporting a metallic black finish, the S1+ Electric Scooter is not only extremely durable and built to last, but also has the user riding in style.
  • SAFE & RELIABLE BREAK SYSTEM – The Magnum S1+ is fitted-out with a Tektro Mechanical Disc brake system, Lever with Motor Inhibitor and Integrated Bell break system for efficient and responsive breaking
  • RIDE WITH POWERFUL SPEED – The Magnum S1+’s powerful 48V/10A battery drives the dynamic 500W motor at speeds up to 20MPH with up 20 miles of charge time.

The Magnum Premium IMAX S1+ is a good 500 watt class scooter with a price tag a bit on the high side. It is a good performer but priced much higher than other similar power level scooters.

It easily reaches 20mph on flat lands even with heavier riders. It will slow down a lot on hills but still go up them. To get really good uphill speed you need a 1000 watt plus scooter.
Construction is almost all aluminum and feels very well put together.

It only has a mechanical rear disc brake. This brake is not as strong as a hydraulic brake or a combination of front and rear disc brakes. Braking performance is not super quick. Front and rear brakes are common on most electric scooters.

The 10 inch pneumatic tires give it a pretty smooth ride over most cracks and ruts in the pavement.

At 36 lbs it is still pretty easy to carry around. It is a good compromise of power and weight. The price is a bit high for a 500 watt electric scooter.

  • Top Speed – 20mph
  • Range – 20 miles
  • Power – 500 watts
  • Max Rider Weight – 230 lbs
  • Scooter Weight – 36 lbs

What we liked

  • Good speed on flat ground
  • Adequate power for hills
  • Good build quality

What we didn’t like

  • High price
  • Brake not that effective
